On day 6 of the Rajputana Splendour Tour, you would be given
the option of visiting the Ranthambore National park once
again with your naturalist. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast
on return and set out on a 3-hour journey to Jaipur that is
located some 180 kms away. Stop at the small town of Sanganer
enroute and see for yourself how textile printing is done.
As you near the "pink city" of Jaipur, you will
be serenaded by many delightful sights and sounds that bedazzle
the senses. Right from camel pulled carts to colorful bazaars,
Jaipur is a collage of colors that fascinates every soul.
You will be driven to Samode Haveli, which would be your home
in Jaipur. After resting awhile, set out to visit the Turban
Museum where you will learn how to prepare turbans besides
marveling at the delightful collection on display.
As part of the Rajputana Splendour Tour, you will be treated
to a traditional Rajasthani lunch that would add up to a memorable
affair. You will also be acquainted with the procedure of
making Jalebis (an Indian sweet dish) and Lassi (a sweet Indian
drink).
The Johri Bazaar would be your next stop during the tour
of Jaipur. A great place to shop for gifts and souvenirs,
the Johri Bazaar is a haven for bargain hunters. It must also
be mentioned that some of the shops in this famous market
are more than 500 years old, each having its own special product
to sell. You can even try your hand at grading jewelry and
diamonds or visit a puppet shop to learn how to operate a
puppet. Your guide would then drive you back to Samode Haveli
where you will stay overnight.
